Garter belts for women come in as a great relief for any woman who loves functionality, style and comfort in their way of clothing. These garter belts bring together elegance and fashion, allowing any woman to look sexy regardless of their body shape when they are naked. Any modern woman, if asked by you to wear a corset or a petticoat would laugh at you all the way. This is because these are way outdated, old and unfashionable. Garter Belts For women – A Short History
These sexy garter belts were designed in the 1920s. They came to be as a result of the restricting corsets which were also very uncomfortable. The belt design gave more freedom to the woman who wanted a more free fitting clothing that did not have to cover the entire torso restrictively. They were also more fashionable and lighter than the girdle although they are not as shaping.
By the late 40s up to the early 1960s, the garter belts had become the fashion inner wear. Every woman had to have them. To some, wearing them with a miniskirt provided the desired effect of allowing people to see them worn, while others wore them with long but slit skirts to allow a good peek as they walked. In the present day, they make the major part of the fashion bedroom lingerie, with some women being bold enough to wear them publicly as a fashion statement.
